Screening Form for Potential Adopter

Adoption into a loving and long term home is the ultimate goal for all SCAT cats and kittens.

Adult cats coming into SCAT are quarantined for 10 days; kittens 14 days. During this time they receive medical care for any medical situations such as injuries or illnesses, deworming, some vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery and both tattoo and microchip identification.

Adoption Rates
Adoption Fees may vary from time to time. Please contact our Adoption Centre on Faithfull to confirm the fee.

Here are the basic steps to adopt:

1. Pay the current adoption fee.
2. Have WRITTEN permission from landlord to have a pet, if renting.
3. Complete a screening form (see link at the top of this page).
4. Agree to return the cat to SCAT if necessary and not to abandon; and to keep cat safe inside or in cat enclosure.
5. Agree NOT to declaw the cat at any time.
6. Have a safe carrier to transport the cat home.

Note: Most of these animals were born on the streets. They are usually timid when they first meet someone new, but because of the TLC that each animal receives in foster care, most will adapt to their new home. Patience is required.
