John Arthur Martin passed away suddenly at his home April 27th, 2002. John was proud to be a SCAT member and proud of the SCAT founder - his daughter (Linda Gubbe). From building sheds, catruns, putting up tents, moving display stuff, to offering his driveway or house for storage & garage sales, John was always there for SCAT, right from the start, ready with his tools and a smile. In the words of one volunteer: "Linda, I had the pleasure of meeting your father when we went over to pick up the dryer... and I left feeling like I had known him for a very long time. Your father was one of the nicest people I have probably ever got to know in such a short time. If your father could have made such an impact on me in a half hour period, I know that he must have warmed the lives of many, many other people. My prayers are with you and your father as he makes his transition from this life to his next." |
